1 Year Anniversary

Image
We celebrated our one year anniversary, I can’t believe it’s already been a whole year since we got married!  I saved the final page of our wedding scrapbook for our one year anniversary, so after I get photos printed, I can finally finish it!  We started our festivities by having dessert after lunch. We got a small simple white vanilla cake with blue flowers (our wedding colors) from Whole Foods, as well as some mini pastries. The usual one year anniversary tradition is to eat a frozen cake slice from the wedding, but since we had a destination wedding, we had no way of transporting our cake home. But, getting a new cake was just as fun!  Then, we got dinner and drinks at a restaurant.  After that, we took a painting class and painted our pet lizards! We had so much fun painting and drinking wine, since painting is something we both enjoy doing as a hobby. We have also been wanting some more art to hang up on our walls, so hanging up something we painted ourse...

DIY Prosecco Bottle Engagement Gift

Image
Since my wedding came and went, and I wrote all about my planning process from start to finish,  I no longer have anything else to write about regarding my wedding. I did not want to just end the blog like this, so I am pivoting to bring you wedding & anniversary gift ideas, planning events as a member of the bridal party, and anniversary date ideas.  My sister got engaged just months after my wedding so I never really left wedding mode since we have another wedding to look forward to in our family! I wanted to get them a gift to celebrate their engagement.  I was inspired by all the decorative bottles on Pinterest. I bought a bottle of Prosecco and I decorated it with some engagement ring scrapbooking stickers. Then, I bought a decorative white hair bow to wrap around the neck of the bottle. She could reuse the hair bow as a hair accessory for bridal events.  I bought a set of basic champagne flutes and filled them with Hershey kisses, which matched the silver c...

Honeymoon in Las Vegas Itinerary

Image
We decided to do our honeymoon in the fabulous Las Vegas. We just wanted to do something different since our wedding was on a tropical Caribbean island, which is a popular honeymoon destination. There is so much to do in Las Vegas. Since this was not our first time in Las Vegas, it was actually the first vacation we ever took as a couple, we wanted to do the things we did not have time for last time as well as revisit some of our favorite activities from last time. This was our itinerary for our honeymoon in Las Vegas.  DAY 1 Evening travel to Las Vegas  We spent most of day 1 at home packing and preparing our home for the house sitter, until the evening which was when we drove to the airport. We wore our 'honeymoon bound' t-shirts with our 'mr & mrs' hoodies , both can be ordered through my Etsy shop .  We had a pretty late flight and we landed in Las Vegas late at night. We took Lyft to our hotel, The Luxor. We checked in and the aesthetic of the hotel is Egy...

Our Experience at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana

Image
Before the wedding, we were greeted at the lobby with moist towels and a welcome drink. They gave us bride and groom wristbands at check in and these were also the key to our room. Our butler gave us a tour of the resort and then showed us to our room, which was very clean and had a beautiful ocean view. We were welcomed with a bottle of champagne, two bottles of Dominican liquor, and plenty of snacks and drinks.  After the wedding, we had a few "honeymoon" activities that were included in our wedding package. We had a spa day package, which we ended up breaking up into two days to squeeze into our busy schedule. It started off with a couples massage and champagne, it was so relaxing. The next day, we drank champagne again and relaxed in the spa for another hour. We used the sauna, steam room, and a hot tub jacuzzi. There was also a cryotherapy tub, which was a tub of icy cold water, and we were supposed to submerge ourselves in there right before going into the hot tub jacuz...

Our Destination Wedding at Majestic Elegance Punta Cana - 01.05.24

Image
The morning of our wedding, my husband and I ordered room service breakfast to enjoy together before going our separate ways to get ready for the big day. I put on my robe and 'I do' slippers, then I met up with my bridal party in the lobby to get taken to the salon. Our wedding coordinator, Jennisferl, helped us every step of the day and she made sure everything was perfect.  I got both my hair and makeup done at the Majestic Elegance salon, bride goes last, and they did an amazing job. They had a book with hairstyles and I chose one of them. I showed them a makeup inspiration photo from Pinterest.  Once we finished at the salon, we were taken back to my room to continue getting ready. The groom was in another room with his groomsmen and the photographer was taking photos of them at the moment. We hired WBA Studios to take our wedding photos and they all turned out so beautifully.   I got back to the room with the rest of the bridal party and we had lunch wait...
