Honeymoon in Las Vegas Itinerary

We decided to do our honeymoon in the fabulous Las Vegas. We just wanted to do something different since our wedding was on a tropical Caribbean island, which is a popular honeymoon destination. There is so much to do in Las Vegas. Since this was not our first time in Las Vegas, it was actually the first vacation we ever took as a couple, we wanted to do the things we did not have time for last time as well as revisit some of our favorite activities from last time. This was our itinerary for our honeymoon in Las Vegas.

DAY 1

Evening

travel to Las Vegas

We spent most of day 1 at home packing and preparing our home for the house sitter, until the evening which was when we drove to the airport. We wore our 'honeymoon bound' t-shirts with our 'mr & mrs' hoodies, both can be ordered through my Etsy shop

We had a pretty late flight and we landed in Las Vegas late at night. We took Lyft to our hotel, The Luxor. We checked in and the aesthetic of the hotel is Egyptian themed which was really cool. However, despite there being a resort fee, there were no amenities whatsoever. The rooms were very old and outdated and did not even include a microwave, mini fridge, or coffee maker. We had to request a fridge for my medications, and the fridge was only large enough to fit my medication and nothing more.

DAY 2

Morning

breakfast

We walked to Paris Las Vegas for breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi. I ordered waffles and my husband ordered eggs Benedict. We also got mimosas and a free cream puff sundae dessert. The meal was delicious as always, we came to this restaurant last time we visited Las Vegas so we just had to come again.

flamingos

After breakfast, we walked to Flamingo Las Vegas to see the flamingos.

fountains

We walked to Bellagio. We started with the Bellagio Patisserie. We ordered some green tea and a cappuccino. Then, we went to the Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.

We finished our Bellagio adventure with looking at the fountains outside.

Afternoon

lunch

In the afternoon, we headed over to Mandalay Bay Beach. We had lunch at Slice of Vegas Pizza Kitchen. We ordered a four cheese pizza, which was weird because it did not have any sauce on it.

aquarium

After lunch, we went to the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay.

museums

We went back to the Luxor to check out their museums. We started with Bodies, which is a museum filled with real cadavers. Then, we went to Titanic. They had real artifacts from the Titanic which was really cool to see. They also give you a passenger's boarding pass at the start and at the end, you find out if your passenger survived or not.

Evening

dinner

We slowly made our way to The Venetian Las Vegas with the monorail. We had dinner at Trattoria Reggiano. We ordered a bottle of wine and bruschetta to share. I ordered vodka pasta, my husband ordered carbonara. We were quite impressed with our meals.

DAY 3

Morning

breakfast

We started our morning off by taking the monorail to the Linq for breakfast at Hash House A Go Go. We had mimosas, which were very delicious. I had avocado toast while my husband had hash. We felt that our meals were just okay, nothing too special from what we can get back at home.

Afternoon

lunch

We had our car rental dropped off and we drove to Fremont Street to spend the afternoon there. This was where all the original casinos of Las Vegas are located, it was a very different vibe from the strip. We checked out a coffee shop called Public Us. I got a hot cocoa with a breakfast sammie. My husband got a cold brew coffee with a bento meal. After we ate, we walked down Fremont Street.

casino

We checked out the Golden Nugget Casino and gambled away a few dollars for fun. We also got drinks at the bar.

Evening

neon museum

Once the sun starting setting, we went to the neon museum. There were a lot of retired vintage neon signs from Las Vegas and it was cool seeing them after dark.

dinner

We went to Chin Chin at the New York New York Hotel for dinner. We ordered dumplings as an appetizer. We shared a main course of sushi, which was presented in an interesting way, the fish was outside of the roll and it was very delicious. We got a free strawberry cheesecake as a dessert.

DAY 4

Morning

breakfast

We got breakfast at 48th and Crepe which was at the New York New York Hotel. We both got breakfast crepes, which did not contain all the ingredients as advertised and the taste was just not that great.

Afternoon

road trip

We packed our bags and checked out of the Luxor. We stopped at Sprouts to stock up on water and snacks for hiking. This grocery store reminded me a lot of Fresh Thyme from back home, which is one of my favorite grocery stores. Then, we stopped at In N Out for lunch. We got animal style burgers and fries with a vanilla shake and soda, it was so delicious. We were off on our 4 hour drive to the Grand Canyon.

We arrived at The Grand Hotel at the Grand Canyon, which was a cozy hotel about a mile from the Grand Canyon south rim.

Evening

dinner

We wanted to check out the Grand Canyon before dinner so we got into the national park and watched the sun set over it. Then, we had dinner at El Tovar Hotel Dining Room. The window had the perfect view of the Grand Canyon. We got cocktails, a charcuterie board, French onion soup, and I got vegetable tortellini while my husband got elk bolognese pasta. Everything was delicious.

DAY 5

Morning

hiking

We woke up early the next morning and packed our bags to check out. We ate our dinner leftovers for breakfast to save some time on having breakfast at a restaurant. Then, we drove to Grand Canyon National Park. The trail we wanted to hike was too icy so we just hiked the south rim trail instead. The views were gorgeous.

Afternoon

road trip

After our hike, we were hungry so we stopped for lunch before making our way back to Las Vegas. We stopped at We Cook Pizza and Pasta. We ordered a margarita pizza, which was good, but they did not use fresh mozzarella. We drove for 4 hours back to the Luxor in Las Vegas.

Evening

dinner

For our final dinner, we wanted to try a local restaurant. We went to Juan's Flaming Fajitas & Cantina. It's an authentic Mexican restaurant that gave a lot of food for a very reasonable price, we were both pleasantly surprised. Their service was also very quick and prompt despite being extremely busy. We both ordered margaritas. I got a taco meal, my husband got a fajita meal. We started off with chips and three dips which were red spicy salsa, salsa verde, and a bean dip. Then, we got soup, which was very delicious. Our main dish came with rice and refried beans. Everything tasted amazing.

DAY 6

Morning

breakfast

We had breakfast at Mandalay Bay at a restaurant called Citizens Restaurant & Bar. I ordered eggs Benedict, my husband ordered the French toast. Both of our meals were good.

Afternoon

travel back home

We checked out of the hotel, dropped off the rental car, and took an Uber to the airpot. Once we got past security, we got lunch at Starbucks. I ordered iced tea lemonade with a ham and cheese croissant, my husband got espresso with a breakfast sammie. Our flight was delayed but we made it back home overall satisfied with our adventure of a honeymoon.
